*V Festival takes place in Weston Park, Stafford (21-22nd August 2010)

*T in the Park takes place in Kinross, Scotland (9-11th July 2010)

*The Big Session festival takes place in De Montford, Leicester (18-20th June)

SNEAKY Train Fare Rises!!

The rail watchdog Passenger Focus has told the BBC that since last year rail fares have quadrupled in price. But what’s sneaky is that the fare prices have slowly increased unnoticed, due to a loop hole in how peak-time and off-peak fares are set.

With the general increases in running a motor, more people are using public transport as a means of traveling to work on a daily basis, which is overcrowding off-peak train times.

What the train companies have done is change off-peak train times into peak which doesn’t require authorization from the regulator ORR

The rail companies aren’t actually doing anything wrong by changing or extending peak times, but the ticketing system is already confusing for passengers.

Labour To Force Cheaper Train Tickets

Under Labours new manifesto, rail passengers will have the right to cheaper train tickets and a refund if the passenger is not offered the cheapest fare or if they are miss-sold the ticket .

This is great news for frequent rail users or anyone who is potentially looking to use public transport due to the increase in fuel prices.

But it doesn’t look like anyone is going to slash the actual fare prices which have been creeping up slowly.

Which? magazine independently investigated rail fare prices and it found that the cheapest ticket was only offered to the consumer fewer than half of occasions.. But the rail firm bosses also said that when they carried a mystery shop the correct ticket was sold 99% of the time.

Dragon Dens Duncan Bannatyne Helps Girl Find Lost £4,000 season ticket

Ms Schillemore travels around 100km from her home to London every day and lost her £4,000 season train ticket at 16.30 at on the Waterloo to Portsmouth Harbour stops.

Schillemore sent Duncan Bannatyne a message on Twitter as she recalled Duncan Bannatyne being in a similar situation when his wife lost a dress on a train and he managed to get it back through Twitter.

Duncan retweeted the message to 54,000 followers.
