Expensive Train Tickets

The herald scotland have reported the UK’s first £1000 train ticket for a return journey between the Highlands and Cornwall has led to outrage over the rising cost of traveling by train. The distance from Kyle of Lochalsh to Newquay is nearly the full length of the UK, a spokesman from CrossCountry trains said the fare was a red herring and nobody bought the ticket.

Looking through thetrainline tickets now cost:

First Anytime Return – £1002.00
Anytime Return – £456.00
Off-peak Return – £244.10

Which seems a bit more reasonable.
